Scuba 4 Schools — Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers for schools, parents, and students planning programmes and trips with Scuba 4 Schools.

Is scuba diving safe for students?
Yes. Safety is at the heart of everything we do. All training follows internationally recognised PADI standards, with low student-to-instructor ratios. Sessions start in controlled pool environments and are supervised by qualified professionals with current first aid, CPR, and safeguarding credentials.
Who are the instructors?
Our team comprises experienced, PADI‑certified professionals. All staff hold Level 3 Safeguarding, EFR First Aid, and enhanced DBS/CRB checks (within the last two years).
Do students need to be strong swimmers?
Students should feel comfortable in water, be able to swim 200 metres, and tread water for 10 minutes. Competitive swimming is not required — confidence and calm are what matter.
What qualifications will students gain?
Students can achieve internationally recognised certifications, starting with PADI Open Water Diver and progressing to Advanced Open Water or Rescue Diver as experience grows.
What equipment do students need?
All essential scuba kit can be rented at a discount from Scuba 4 Schools, so students dive using the same familiar gear they trained in. Personal swimwear, towel, and logbook are all that’s needed.
How are trips supervised?
A standard liveaboard group is 18 paying students, plus two school staff for supervision and two PADI professionals for diving operations and safety oversight.
What if our school can’t fill all the places?
You can share a boat with another school or college, or open remaining places to parents. We’ll help coordinate to keep the trip balanced, safe, and cost‑effective.
What’s included in the Egypt Liveaboard package?
Included: return flights, all in‑country transfers, full board and lodging on the vessel, unlimited local soft drinks, use of hotel facilities and a meal on departure day (private/shared day room optional), and discounted equipment rental. Not included: UK airport transfers (we recommend the train, subject to flight times).
Are students insured?
Scuba 4 Schools holds comprehensive public liability and professional indemnity insurance. We also recommend individual travel insurance that includes scuba diving.
Can teachers be trained as well?
Yes. Staff can train alongside students, and schools can opt for Instructor Development Programs to deliver diving or first aid training in‑house.
How do we get started?
